Betty #2

When it came time to choose our second project I wanted a real 80s muscle bike as the foundation.  In the early 80s, when I was a kid, the Suzuki GS1150 was the fastest thing on two wheels and I have always regretted never having one.  So for Betty #2 I figured the GS was the perfect foundation for our next project.  The other half of Zephyr Motorcycles, my partner in crime, and also my dad, stumbled upon two GS1150s for sale on Craigslist in Delta, BC.  Both were "EF" models and had the full fairings.  So we hooked up the trailer and head to Delta to have a look.  Turned out this old timer was offloading all of his bikes.  In addition to the two GSs, he was also selling a Hayabusa.  Despite being tempted to grab all three, we decided to make him an offer on just the two GSs.  Below is one of the GSs as it looked on the afternoon we took possession.
